X-113

Based on the experience with his X-112, Dr. Lippisch became a consultant to RFB Rhein Flugzeugbau GmbH in Germany.

The technical director of RFB, Mr. Hanno Fischer, the founder of Fischer – Flugmechanik, started to design the X-113 together with Dr. Lippisch on recommendation of the German Ministry of Defense. Different from the X-112, the X-113 was completely made from GRP, which proofed to be an ideal material for those water based craft.

As to the recommendation of the military, the X-113 was designed to operate also out of ground effect, and therfore was registered as an aircraft. It made its maiden flight in 1969.
